"My Mail Art is not about decorating envelopes as the Artistampers do, or about (snail mail) correspondence for correspondence's sake. I want to play. I want to traverse boundaries. I want to test how much I can provoke the system(s), how resilient and fault-tolerant they are before they fail (to deliver). I want to interact with the systems and the people within. I want to explore methods of artistic production as well as the logistics of transports. I want to interact with the individuals on the other side, pose questions, and maybe even get some answers. Inevitably, the artifacts of my art are modified, damaged en route. That is life, and part of the game. And just serves to create new research inquiries, paperwork and bureaucratic obstacles and loopholes to be twiddled with."
